This is the cake that will make you a star. While the chocolate and butter are cooling a little, sieve the confectioners' sugar into another bowl. I know coffee is great in chocolate cakes, but we are not coffee drinkers. Because there is no leavening occurring, you can use either dutch-process or natural cocoa powder in the buttercream.

Distribute cake batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.

Divide mixture evenly among 2 prepared pans. Cakes are usually fine sitting on the counter, but have to be refrigerated when you have a high moisture or dairy part, like whipped cream. The whole recipe will yield approximately chocolate cake without oven 24 cupcakes. Put the chocolate and honey into a bowl and place over a pan of hot water.
